Garden Village 't Lansink

Tuindorp 't Lansink in Hengelo is located in the Wilderinkshoek district south of Hengelo station and had 2,140 inhabitants in 2009. The area of the neighborhood is approximately 53 hectares. The majority of 't Lansink is designated as a protected village view.

Of the four residential neighborhoods in the Wilderinkshoek district, Tuindorp 't Lansink is the oldest in terms of buildings. There are many pre-war homes; over three-quarters date from before 1950. Tuindorp is situated on the territory of the former marke Woolde. The northern part of the district has been built for a very long time. It includes the Stork machine factory and other companies, which were established just before or after the construction of the railways in Hengelo. Around these businesses, homes were built for the workers who worked there. The garden village is named after the farm 't Lansink that was located in the area. Notable points in the neighborhood are the Stork factory, Hogeschool Tio, ROC van Twente, Fire Department Hengelo, and the characteristic pre-war homes.
