From this height, the burial mounds, called the Seven Mountains, can be clearly seen on the west side. These monuments date back to the Bronze Age, now about 3,000 to 4,500 years ago. The burial mounds are the first burial mounds in the Gooi that were investigated around 1840. The finds were urns of pottery with cremated remains and some grave goods such as stone battle hammers and bronze jewelry. These can now be seen in the Museum Hofland on the Hilversumseweg in Laren.
