Description

Around 1825 F.J. van de Wall made a plan for a canal between the Vecht over the Egelshoek past Laren to the Eemnesservaart. Later, these plans changed and the canal would run via Blaricum to the Zuiderzee near Huizen. The excavation work had progressed around 1880 from the Vecht to just past Einde Gooi. After this, the need to dig this waterway further disappeared.
