The Lage Vaart is a canal in Flevoland, between the Ketelmeer and the Markermeer near Almere. The depth is on average 3 meters and the width is between 35 and 50 meters.
The Lage Vaart runs from the Ketelmeer to Dronten. Halfway the Swiftervaart goes to Swifterbant. In Dronten, where there is also a port, the Lage Vaart runs more westwards towards the Gelderse Hout in Lelystad. From there, one branch goes to the Boswijk and one to the Oostervaart industrial estate, called the Oostervaart. The Lage Vaart then leaves Lelystad, where it then arrives at the Hollandse Hout forest, where a branch, the Lage Dwarsvaart, which goes towards Lelystad-Haven and the Markermeer, splits off. Then the canal goes along the Oostvaardersplassen, through Almere, and next to the Hoge Vaart. Eventually they both end up on the Markermeer. In the middle, the Lage Vaart is connected to the Hoge Vaart by the Larservaart.
