Kasteel De Essenburgh is a castle and estate in the Dutch province of Gelderland. Until 1929 the name Essenburg was used. The plaque mentions the year 1652. However, various publications mention a medieval predecessor, although after archaeological research no trace of an earlier building was found. The builder is well known, Johan Coolwagen. He had it built as a status symbol in order to acquire a place within the Knighthood of Veluwe. This failed and Johan Coolwagen eventually had to sell the house to his creditors.
