The church of Midwolda is a two-aisled hall church from 1738 in the village of Midwolda in the municipality of Oldambt, which is also known for the special church organ from 1772.De current church replaced the medieval Viertorenkerk of Midwolda which, according to tradition, was the largest church building in the province of Groningen. Because the village had moved to a sand ridge further south to better protect itself against flooding of the Dollard, the cross church had become isolated. Moreover, the building had become increasingly dilapidated and one of the towers had already collapsed.
