The Ropta State is a monumental farmhouse with a mansion situated between Wijnaldum and Roptazijl in the Frisian municipality of Harlingen. On the north side lies the Roptavaart. The Ropta State is not a stins but a farmhouse with a mansion. There was a stins Ropta State, but that was located near Metslawier. The Ropta State near Wijnaldum was built around 1831 on behalf of Jan Sikkes IJzenbeek and his wife Geertje Oosterbaan. Behind the mansion, on the southeast side, they had the landscape architect Lucas Pieters Roodbaard create a park in the so-called landscape style with winding paths and pond areas.
