Gelre Hospitals Apeldoorn is a large top clinical hospital in the municipality of Apeldoorn. Approximately 2200 people work there; thus, the hospital is one of the largest employers in Apeldoorn. In early 2009, the general practitioner post, which had previously been located at the Juliana location, was established in the hospital. The service area of the general practitioner post includes the municipalities of Apeldoorn, Epe, Brummen, and Voorst. Since 2009, the general practitioner post has been housed in the renovated hospital building on Albert Schweitzerlaan. The Julian Hospital location was part of Gelre Hospitals Apeldoorn until 2009.
