The village church of Opheusden is the oldest church in the Betuwe village of Opheusden. The building is a late Gothic village church with a three-aisled, pseudo-basilical nave and transept, which is dated to the year 1524. The choir dates from the 15th century. There is a sacristy in the corner between the choir and the south transept. In 1940 the building was destroyed by acts of war. The tower and the western part of the nave were lost. During a large-scale restoration from 1949 to 1950, the nave was extended to the west. The church still has four tombstones from the 17th and 18th centuries.
