The area is approximately 160 hectares and is located west of Rijksweg 73 on the border with the municipality of Nijmegen. The main entrance is located on provincial road 324. The area was created in 1976 and has a lake of 45 hectares and several sandy beaches and sunbathing areas. The northern part is intended for water recreation and the southern part has more of a nature destination and connects to nature reserve Wijchense Ven. In the area is also the golf course Golf Club BurgGolf Wijchen. In 1979, a children's village was built and closed in March 2011. At the lake there is also an underwater housing for the diving club and a boathouse of the Nijmegen Rescue Brigade. Part of it is reserved for nude recreation. Events such as dance festival Emporium are also held. The area is managed by Leisurelands.
