The Mammoet is a statue that stands in Groessen along the Kandiadijk near the east side of the railway tunnel under the Pannerdensch Kanaal, which is part of the Betuweroute.
The concrete statue of a mammoth is 5 meters long and 4.70 meters high and 8000 kg heavy.
It was designed and made by Joris Baudoin on behalf of the project organization Betuweroute and ProRail as a gift to the residents of the municipality of Duiven. The image is a reference to the Betuwe line as a 'mammoth project' and the mammoth bones that were found during the drilling of the railway tunnel.
