The P.W. Janssen Hospital was located on the Ehzerallee in Almen in the Dutch province of Gelderland from 1915 to 1993. The eponymous foundation then moved to a new nursing home in Deventer, in the province of Overijssel.
The private model hospital for homeopathic treatments was founded by Clara Janssen, daughter of the wealthy tobacco merchant and philanthropist P.W. Janssen, who passed away in 1903 and after whom the hospital was named. Mrs. Janssen was married to the Almense general practitioner Pieter van der Harst, who specialized in homeopathy. The Delft architect G.N. Itz designed a construction plan that led to the building of a hospital, executed with luxurious materials, with 25 beds for patients of all kinds. This was the number of patients that, according to Van der Harst, could be treated by a physician without assistance. Surrounding the house was a seven-hectare walking park for the patients, with specially dust-free paths.
