Brakel Castle is a medieval castle ruin in the village of Brakel. It is located about 300 meters southwest of the reformed church, in the early 19th-century park of the current Huis Brakel that dates from 1768. During the construction of the park, the ruin was deliberately included as a landscape element. The remains visible then and now date from the 15th-century castle, but underneath are remains of a possible 14th-century castle. According to tradition, there was a fortified house as early as 870.
