The Tielerwaard is a region in the Dutch provinces of Gelderland and South Holland, and is part of the larger area known as the Betuwe. Traditionally, the Tielerwaard refers to the part of the Betuwe in Gelderland that is bordered to the north by the river Linge and to the south by the Waal. To the east, this area extends to Tiel; downstream to the west, the historical center of Gorinchem fell just outside of it. Since 1986, the Tielerwaard village of Dalem has belonged to the South Holland municipality of Gorinchem, and as a result of eastern urban expansion, a part of the city of Gorinchem is also located in the Tielerwaard.
