The Slakmolen or Kasteelmolen is a watermill on the Slakbeek, in Elsloo. This grain mill is an undershot mill that used to belong to the castle of Elsloo. In 1553, the then Lord of Elsloo commissioned the construction of this mill, as a replacement for his other two mills, the Scharrenmolen and the Materbergmolen. As the Meuse changed its course, both the old castle and one of the former mills, the Scharmolen, were threatened. The Scharrenmolen was destroyed by Spanish troops in 1576, and the Materbergmolen fell into decay.
