Description

This national monument was built in 1937 to a design by the Maastricht architect Alphons Boosten. The church was designed inspired by the façade of the Basilica of Our Lady in Maasticht and is built in a romantic-modernist style. This church is special because artists from the Limburg Reveil have collaborated on this church building. They found their inspiration in a self-confident, personal and romantic approach to Limburg. Henri Jonas, Charles Eyck, Joep Nicolas, Charles Vos, Gisèle Waterschoot van der Gracht, Jacques Verheyen, Jef Scheffers and Yvonne Trypels contributed artistically to this special work of art.
