Fort de Hel is a fort located a few hundred meters northwest of Helwijk. It was part of the Stelling van het Hollandsch Diep and the Volkerak.
As early as 1748, Fort Anna was built on this site to the design of captain-engineer Michiel Mattheus van Oosterzee, named after Anna of Hanover. In 1793 the fort was called Carolina, but it was already dilapidated by then.
