The Gaatkensplas is a water pond created around 1999 in the Jan Gerritse polder in the municipality of Barendrecht in South Holland. Located along the drainage channel de Koedood between the Vinex location Carnisselande and the Oude Maas, the 20-hectare large pond serves a function for water storage and recreation. During the digging of the Gaatkensplas, the Jan Gerritse hill was formed, which is colloquially known as the Gaatkensbult.
