Overschie is a district and part of the municipality of Rotterdam. As of July 31, 2017, Overschie had 17,620 inhabitants and covers an area of 15.80 km². Overschie was formerly a municipality in South Holland. The name Overschie is mentioned as early as the tenth century, when the village was a small settlement in a large marsh area.
