The Baardwijkse Overlaat is a nature reserve between Drunen and Waalwijk and has been managed by Vereniging Natuurmonumenten since 1978. The area was laid out in 1766 and functioned for the first time in 1769. The area had the function of collecting the water of the Meuse in times of flooding.
