The aim and function of the Nature Centre is, among other things, to stimulate participation in hands-on activities in nature, to have the centre serve as a starting point for excursions and guided tours, to provide information about nature-oriented activities such as walking, cycling, visiting our wildlife pulpit and to point out to individual visitors and groups by means of information and education the nature, landscape and cultural values in the vicinity of the centre, in order to stimulate understanding for and responsible co-use of the Veluwe landscape.
The Veluwe Nature Centre is located in a beautiful and versatile area: on the edge of the Ederheide on the agricultural enclave "De Hindekamp".
The alternation of heaths, forests, pools and ponds ensures a rich flora and fauna.
In addition to these natural elements, the two flocks of sheep, the burial mounds and the Belgian monument are also worth a visit. In addition, there are many opportunities for walking and cycling.
Right next to the center, a natural garden of 7500 m2 has been created. In this garden, attention is paid to the theme of "nature and agriculture in the Veluwe".
There is an apiary in which the Edese Bee Associations house eight bee colonies. On special days, the beekeepers explain the life of these interesting animals.
