The village of Hoog Soeren is enclosed by the woods of the Koninklijke Houtvesterij Het Loo and enjoys the status of protected village view from the municipality of Apeldoorn.
Especially on weekends, tourists visit the village located in a wooded area. The village of Hoog Soeren is located in the middle of the forests of the southern Crown Domains. The northern Crown Estates are located north of the Amersfoortseweg. This includes the Royal Palace "Het Loo".
On walks through the vast forest and heathlands you can often see deer and wild boars. In the evening one can also encounter foxes or badgers. In autumn, the "burbling" of deer can still be heard in one of the few places in the Netherlands, as a sign that the rutting season has arrived.
The village is located 85 meters above sea level.
