The Bongard Castle in Bocholtz has one round tower, a gate tower, an entrance wing and one side wing. The castle is built of brick with marlstone layers.
It hasn't always looked this way; Originally, it was five times as large. The construction of this castle began in 1523 with a square floor plan. In 1550, four round corner towers were erected.
The castle was built in the sixteenth century on the foundations of a fortified predecessor from the fourteenth century.
