Description

In its time, the Volmolen was part of the Vaals cloth industry. The distance to transport the cloth by horse and cart from Vaals to Epen and back was no obstacle for the manufacturers.
The location of the mill on the Geul had the advantage that there was a lot of water available. The possibilities to fill up were limited in the vicinity of Vaals.
In the French Period, the mill was part of the cloth factory of Charles de Clermont.
