Description

The mining past has left an indelible impression in South Limburg and especially in the Western Mining District. Of course, the memory of this period should never be lost. The old Mijnspoor from Schinnen to Hoensbroek has been specially equipped for this purpose. In addition to the 8 Mine Railway Banks and 20 educational Mine Railway Poles, a Giant Mine Lamp can be found here. By means of a push button, children's voices can be heard telling about this important mining history in South Limburg. The energy for this is generated via solar energy. The Mijnspoor location can be found via the Beekdalroute (code SC09 on the Parkstad walking map) of the municipality of Schinnen.
