Description

The mining past has left an indelible impression in South Limburg and especially in the Western Mining District. Of course, the memory of this period should never be lost. The old Mijnspoor from Schinnen to Hoensbroek has been specially equipped for this purpose. Along the so-called Mijnspoorpad, a total of 8 resting benches have been placed completely in My Past style. In the outskirts of Schinnen, a stone's throw from the Muldersplas, 20 educational Mining Railway poles have also been placed. Each pole is a reminder of the mining history of this region through a provocative question.
The Mijnspoor location can be found via the Beekdalroute (code SC09 on the Parkstad walking map) of the municipality of Schinnen.
