Geological Museum Hofland is a museum with geological finds at Hilversumseweg 51 in the town of Laren in the province of North Holland. The museum was founded in 1972 in collaboration with the municipality of Laren. The museum is located on a moraine near the Sint Janskerkhof, the place where Laren was originally located. The surrounding area of the museum has a wide variety of landscapes. In the west are peatlands with puddles, in the east is the flat Eem valley. The museum is named after amateur geologist Lucas Hofland who bequeathed his stray stone collection to the municipality when he died in 1969. Hofland was a member of the NIVON Laren branch, which was founded in 1957. This led to the creation of the amateur geology working group in 1963.
