Museum Hofland is named after the amateur geologist Lucas Hofland, whose collection formed the basis of the museum. Meanwhile, there is much more to be found in the museum: fossils, minerals, erratic boulders, and artifacts, but especially the story that these finds tell. The story of the geological history of the Gooi, with archaeological findings from the oldest inhabitants. Or the story 'from the Big Bang to the present' about the formation of our planet, or the story of the development of life on Earth.
