Mariakapel Mother of Sorrows Margraten
The chapel is located along the road to IJzeren at the edge of the district known as 'De Erk'. Green areas accentuate the chapel. The open roadside chapel made of Kunrader stone and marl dates from 1950. On a base of Kunrader stone sits a superstructure made of marl. The chapel has a rectangular ground plan. The gable with a cement block cross is flanked by two buttresses. The chapel has a gabled roof covered with tiles. There are two small windows in the side walls. An iron gate closes off the arched entrance. The walls of the chapel are made of marl stone. On an altar stands a statue of Mary, Mater Dolorosa (Mother of Sorrows), surrounded by a bow of rose-shaped lights.
