Café Restaurant De Zwarte Madonna

De Zwarte Madonna, next to Landal Hoog Vaals and within walking distance of Vaalsbroek Castle, is a cozy restaurant with friendly service and small prices.
The beautiful coffee with liqueur and whipped cream, a glass of water and of course a cookie, the delicious luxury Limburg pies and the warm apple pie are ready for you from 10.30 am.

From Tuesday to Sunday, De Zwarte Madonna has a great three-course menu for € 23.50, which starts with a nice cup of soup and as a main course Limburg sour meat, schnitzel, plaice fillet or chicken satay with delicious fries.
The dessert is an ice cream with whipped cream or a nice cup of coffee. In addition, three-course menus with a heavenly steak, a delicious salmon steak or a devilish spoke ham are also served for the price of € 28.50. Various children's menus are also available for the little ones.

In the special, atmospheric restaurant next to the former monastery, where Limburg music always plays, you can sit on antique prayer chairs from a Belgian nunnery. There is also a beautiful bar made of two altars, church lamps, a confessional and a richly carved choir stall to admire.
The walls are completely covered with old religious prints and large church statues, which is a feast of recognition for many. If the weather permits, you can sit on the spacious terrace.
The Black Madonna is located in the freely accessible park of the religious Museum Vaals. This is a high-profile museum in a former monastery chapel, where you are overwhelmingly surrounded by more than 200 church and monastery statues from 1 to 3.5 meters.
When you visit the museum, you will receive information about the meaning of their own first name and their personal patron saint. In the park you will find the most photographed statue of Jesus in the Netherlands, a lot of religious art and a beautiful Lady Chapel for burning a candle.
