What is a salt marsh?
Salt marshes is actually another word for salt marshes. These are the higher parts that lie at the foot of the wadden dike. Only in spring or storm surge are the salt marshes under water. At high tide, the water of the Wadden Sea flows in through the creeks. The ungrown part of the Marshes, the mudflats, is part of the Plain of Churches, a large mudflat.
