Sittard Line

Ligne is the new meeting place of Sittard, located on the edge of the old center of Sittard. In Ligne, there are a library, cinema, museum, university of applied sciences, care housing, apartments, shops, and restaurants. Beneath the complex, there is a parking lot and bike storage. The square between the buildings is a pleasant place to stay and hosts numerous events. This varied mix gives Ligne a unique and distinctive character and above all, a lot of liveliness. Meeting placeIn Ligne, the museum, cinema, university of applied sciences, and library work closely together. All these 'residents' share the functions of Ligne. For example, the university of applied sciences uses the cinema's screening rooms as lecture halls during the day, and the libraries of Zuyd and De Domijnen are fully integrated into one library. Where possible, they also collaborate content-wise, making Ligne a unique and dynamic environment with optimal opportunities to meet each other. With shops, restaurants, and a lively square in the center, Ligne is the new meeting place of Sittard. Public spaceThe public space is also an important part of the new area. Next to the square, a connection is being created with the green shooting fields, and the Keutelbeek will flow alongside Ligne. The work on the public space will continue until the summer of 2017.
