Quirinus refers to the Marshal Quirinus. In 1983, J. Sinke, alderman of the municipality of Halsteren, took the initiative to erect a new chapel with a well, for which the 'St. Quirinus Chapel Foundation' was created. Chairman became the pastor of the parish and vice-chairman the pastor of the reformed municipality of Halsteren/ Nieuw-Vossemeer. This collaboration referred to the time of the one Christian church before the Reformation, when the Quirinus chapels were built in the Land of Bergen op Zoom. Architect Alph. van Woerkom designed the chapel, an 'open building in Romanesque style with a gabled roof, against the back wall an image of Quirinus, and the well'. Construction began in 1985. The wall ceramics, representing St. Quirinus, were made by Jac van der Smissen. On November 30, 1985, the chapel was consecrated by the pastor and the pastor. It can be characterized as a small monument in memory of the former devotional chapel.
