The monumental building 'Hoeve 't Slot' at Slotweg 7 owes its name to the fact that there was a outer castle of the castle of Halsteren at this location, which had an agricultural function.
During the French siege of Bergen op Zoom in 1747, the farm was heavily damaged. The castle was located behind the farm.
