The war memorial in Steenbergen is a column with the biblical representation of Daniel in the lion's den in relief. The column is 4 meters 65 high, 1 meter deep and 1 meter wide.
The text on the column reads:
'NOVEMBER 1944
IN MEMORY OF
ALL FROM OUR CHURCH
THOSE CAUSED BY THE VIOLENCE OF WAR
AND BY THE RESISTANCE
HAVE PERISHED'.
The biblical representation symbolizes the "trusting surrender to God and the accompanying joy of salvation, which is at hand."
