At the end of the cycle path there is a large information board about the Scheldt Rhine connection.
On the other side of the Scheldt Rhine connection was the redoute (small field ramp) Botshooft, built in 1588.
The function of the redoute was to secure shipping traffic on the Eendracht and to protect the island of Tholen against an attack from West Brabant.
In 1747 it was remade as a simple battery.
In 1794 this battery was restored.
