Zandkes is a nature reserve near Dijkmanshuizen on Texel. The nature reserve is owned by Natuurmonumenten and consists of a brackish polder with shallow pools, located between the old and new Wadden Sea dikes. Many shorebirds and meadow birds live in Zandkes.
The northernmost pool was formed in 1995 due to a dike breach, and the middle pool was specifically dug for the birds. The southern pool is a clay pit that was excavated to strengthen the old dike.
