The Cauberg in Valkenburg is by far the most famous cycling monument in the Netherlands. Numerous championships and World Cup races were decided here. This is the only reason why Limburgs Mooiste occasionally includes this slope in its program, because the road is busy and unattractive in the countryside, and therefore does not fit well into the ambiance that Limburgs Mooiste offers its participants. In 2023, the slope will be part of the Red Loop route. The Cauberg is 850 meters long with an average gradient of 7.5% and a maximum gradient of 11.8%.
