This moment has been here since 1974 and was founded in memory of the 'Rijwielpadvereniging Utrecht Met Omstreken' (UMO). This association was founded in 1918 and has built a network of cycle paths of more than 130 km on the Heuvelrug. Later, the construction of cycle paths became a government task.
The monument has reliefs depicting recreational cycling in the 20th century.
