As can be seen from the name, this estate has its origins directly in peat extraction. A 'nut' is a peat area or also a peat layer. The current country house De Moeren dates from 1818 as shown by the façade stone. In the center of the ridge is a wooden bell tower with a bell. In 1899, by inheritance, the house and estate came into the hands of prof. Van der Hoeven and his family. Van der Hoeven has written a lot about the history of Zundert and has also known Reverend van Gogh, Vincent's father. According to tradition, Vincent himself also roamed the estate.
