Every year, on the first Sunday of September, the Zundert Flower Parade takes place. It has been a tradition since 1936 when it was first held on the occasion of Queen Wilhelmina's birthday. In the mid-1950s, the number of visitors to the parade rose to 100,000. It is the largest dahlia parade in the world and that is why there are many dahlia fields in the vicinity of Zundert. No fewer than 20 hamlets participate with a float and all have their own dahlia field. At the moment, the combined dahlia fields in Zundert cover an area of 33 hectares with a total of 600,000 dahlia tubers from fifty different dahlia species.
