A private heathland forms the heart of the Eeserveld. The forest around makes it look like a theater. The décor consists of burial mounds from prehistoric times and after some searching you discover the undulating pattern of adjacent cart tracks. Old folk tales want white weeds to live in burial mounds. If that's true, then this is a place to avoid at night, though it will look beautiful when the moon, through the trees, points its mockery at the heather.
