Horticultural Museum Historische Tuin Aalsmeer is a living monument about the history of flower and plant cultivation in Aalsmeer. The 'Garden' is located on a unique piece of Bovenland in the center of Aalsmeer at Praamplein 1. You will find a special collection of crops that were once grown and traded in Aalsmeer. It is a living museum where there is something special to experience in every season.
In the living museum you will find an overview of Aalsmeer's horticulture from around 1700 to around 1960. In historical order, you will find the cultivations of fruit, trees and strawberries. You will then be introduced to topiary cultures, ornamental shrubs, roses, migratory shrubs, outdoor flowers and bedding plants. Finally, you will see how the cultivation of cut flowers and potted plants in containers and greenhouses once began.
Of course, you will also find a large number of buildings (buildings) in the Historic Garden that the Aalsmeer growers used in earlier times.
