In 1904 B.J.v.d. Berg founded the Union bicycle factory on the Dedemsvaart canal. They started with a small shop and a house.
In the 20th century, the bicycle industry was a fast grower.
In 1976 the main building burned down and a modern office building was built.
The old Union warehouse is therefore a good example of factory buildings from the first half of the 20th century.
After the bankruptcy of the Union factory, the buildings were used by various other companies.
