The Goudsberg is a hill located between Walem and Valkenburg along the Steenstraat in the Dutch province of Limburg. The Goudsberg is actually an outcrop of the Central Plateau in the Geul Valley. The highest point is about 140 m above sea level.
The name Goudsberg could be a reference to the color of the sand visible beneath the humus layer. The color is thought to be caused by iron-rich water from older higher sources on the plateau. According to another theory, the original name may have been "Godsberg."
