Also known as the Great Tower of Zierikzee. It was built from 1454 to 1510, it is a square building of 24 and a half meters on each side. The Tower reflects the prosperity that the 14th century brought, although in 1510 construction had to be halted as a less prosperous era brought poverty to the area and it could not continue due to the budget being too high. It was supposed to be the tallest tower in the country, competing with the one in the city of Utrecht at 112 meters, with an approximate height of 130 meters, which could not be achieved. The construction was left at 62 meters in height, as can be seen today. Originally it was decorated in the style of the Keldermans family, but most of the decorative elements disappeared when the tower came into the hands of the Government Construction Department in the 18th century. Moreover, during World War II it was set on fire and therefore is not in the best condition, although a restoration was carried out that lasted approximately 20 years.
