The Gravensteen is a building from 1526 located at Mol 25 in Zierikzee, built on behalf of the County of Zeeland. The ground floor of 's Gravensteen is used by a World Shop. The rest of the building can be visited with guided tours via the Stadhuismuseum Zierikzee.
The Gravensteen was the old legal, financial, and administrative center of the Count of Holland and Zeeland, which later also served as a city prison of Zierikzee. In the cell, many drawings have been left on the walls by various prisoners. The cell walls, made of wood, are full of drawings of soldiers, ships, and inscriptions that tell the history of the Gravensteen.
