The Plompe Toren is a church tower located by the Oosterschelde, a few kilometers south of Burgh-Haamstede. The tower is the only remnant of Koudekerke, a village that has since disappeared into the Oosterschelde on Schouwen-Duiveland. The tower is situated just inside the dike and in the dike profile: an indentation has been made around the base in the inner slope of the Oosterschelde dike.
