Oranjezon is a Dutch nature reserve of approximately 400 hectares located in Zeeland Walcheren near Vrouwenpolder. Until 1995, it was used as a water extraction area. The area provided drinking water to Middelburg and later Walcheren; an open water extraction canal was dug for this purpose as part of the labor creation scheme. Although the area no longer serves as a water extraction site, the namesake pumping station is still maintained. In case of emergencies, the area can still provide drinking water.
