De Jonge Johannes is a grain mill in Serooskerke. The mill was built in 1835 to replace a worn-out post mill and remained in operation until 1963, after which it was modified to grind with a diesel engine. Siloes were also installed. In 1984, the mill was sold to a private individual who had it relocated and restored. During this process, two new millstones were also installed. The mill and the nearby restaurant were sold in 2011 to brothers Frank and Arjan Caljouw, who operate De Jonge Johannes almost daily. At the bottom of the mill, there is a small mill shop, which sells not only grain products but also local products. From the terrace and the playground at the restaurant, there is a good view of the mill, which was painted in bright colors from 1985 to 2005, but has since been repainted in a more sober manner. De Jonge Johannes occasionally grinds grain on a voluntary basis. The mill can be visited during the opening hours of the restaurant.
