The Polish Chapel is located at the corner of Wilhelminasingel and Lovensdijkstraat in a park since 1954, the Year of Mary. It is a gift from Breda to the Polish community in gratitude for liberation on October 29, 1944. The consecration took place on October 31, 1954.
Inside the chapel is an image of the Polish Madonna based on an icon of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa in Częstochowa, a pilgrimage site in southern Poland. It is made of mosaic tiles and inlaid with gemstones and gold leaf. Surrounding it is a sandstone frame by Frans Verhaak. The Madonna was created by Jan Gladdines. The chapel was designed by the architectural firm Siebers & van Dael.
